What does a ‘Weapons Systems Operator (crewman) do in the RAF?
Information about this or other jobs in the RAF and Army Air Corps that is part of a crew but not a pilot would be great please!
It’s the new name for Airloadmaster, you join up as a Sergeant, you are responsible for on Air Transport making sure kit and people are loaded up right make weight and balance checks etc, on rotary they do the same and man the GPMGs as well. There are also jobs such as linguist, which is working on board Nimrods, sonar which is again Nimrods MRA2. You look out for ships and subs. Linguist listen in on conversations etc. I think there is also a radar bod who work in the back of E-3 (flying smartie).
